GIRLS SCHOOL MEMORANDUM

Updates for Primary Parents:

Please note, due to extremely high levels of KG students not being picked up by 12:30pm (the end of the KG day) by their parents, the following plan is in place until further direction is given by ADEK.

  1. KG instruction ends at 12pm. At 12pm students riding the bus will be escorted to the KG gym and at 12:15pm escorted to their bus. Students not riding the bus will remain in their KG classroom for a snack break until 12:30pm.
  2. Parents are encouraged to pick up their children between 12:00-12:30pm from their child’s KG classroom.
  3. At 12:30pm, KG teachers will escort non-bused students to the KG gym for parent check out. Children will be checked out one at a time for safety reasons. Parents will be assisted in order of arrival and we thank you in advance for your patience.

KG students not being picked up by parents by 12:30 is causing us to be out of compliance with labor law as we are not staffed to safely monitor 200+ students. The extremely high numbers of KG students not being picked up by 12:30pm is also forcing the school to cancel Grades 3-6 PE classes and to hold the students in the KG gym as it is the only air-conditioned area large enough to house the children and provide supervision with the staff we can spare.

Updates for Secondary Parents:

As a school we are following ADEK policy.  Students violating ADEK policy by ditching class, not wearing school uniform and using their personal cell phones will be held accountable by implementing the following plan:

  1. First Offense—Phone call home to parents and detention until 3pm in the Senior Gym the same day of the offense.
  2. Second Offense—Phone call home to parents, detention until 3pm in the Senior Gym the same day of offense, and a mandatory parent conference.
  3. Third Offense—Phone call home to parents, detention until a parent can pick up their child as they have earned a 1 day suspension.
  4. Fourth Offence—Phone call home to parents, detention until a parent can pick up their child as they have earned a 3 day suspension.
  5. Fifth Offence—Phone call home to parents, detention until a parent can pick up their child as they have earned a 5 day suspension.
